For a Dubai business choosing where to focus, Instagram is a useful starting point for visual consumer offers, LinkedIn for professional buyers, TikTok for short-video discovery, and YouTube for detailed explanations and demonstrations. Facebook and Snapchat deserve consideration when you have evidence that your customers use them and a clear job for the content to do.

These are starting recommendations based on how you sell and what you can produce. The best platform for your business is the one that connects a relevant audience with useful content and a realistic next step, whether that is a booking, an enquiry or a longer buying conversation.

Start with a focused plan you can deliver well. Add another platform when it serves a distinct purpose, rather than creating accounts simply because competitors have them.

Choose by the buying situation

Use this shortlist to decide which platforms deserve a closer look. It is a guide to suitability, not a ranking of returns.

Platform A reason to prioritise it Content you need to sustain What to establish before investing more
Instagram Customers need to see your products, premises, work or experience before enquiring Useful visual posts, short videos and current business information Whether the people responding can actually buy from your business
LinkedIn You sell to people in professional roles or need to demonstrate business expertise Clear explanations, informed opinions and credible examples of your work Whether the relevant buyers and buying conversations are present
TikTok Your offer can be explained or demonstrated through engaging short videos Repeatable video ideas with a clear point for the viewer Whether discovery produces interest from the customer groups you serve
YouTube Customers need demonstrations, comparisons or fuller answers before deciding Videos that answer specific questions thoroughly Whether those questions relate to a service or product you sell
Facebook You already have an audience there, or a relevant community or event gives you a reason to participate Updates and content suited to that audience or community Whether useful conversations and business actions justify the work
Snapchat You have identified customers there and can create material suited to the platform Purposeful visual updates and short videos Whether your own audience evidence supports adding it to the plan

A business can fit more than one row. The question is which platform should receive the strongest material and most attention first.

Read UAE audience figures carefully

National platform figures help establish the scale of an opportunity. They do not tell you how many suitable customers live near your Dubai branch or need your particular service.

DataReportal's Digital 2026 UAE report gives these approximate late-2025 figures. Read the UAE report.

Platform Reported UAE figure Measure
Instagram 8.05 million Advertising audience
TikTok 12.5 million Advertising audience aged 18+
LinkedIn 10.0 million Registered members
Facebook 9.70 million Advertising audience
Snapchat 5.13 million Advertising audience

These are not directly comparable active-user counts: LinkedIn reports registered members, and TikTok's published figure covers adults. Multiple platforms offer substantial UAE reach; the largest number does not identify your best sales channel.

For your decision, replace “people in the UAE” with an actual customer description. A fitness studio needs people who can attend its location. A visitor experience needs customers who can book during their stay. A B2B supplier may need a small set of purchasing decision-makers rather than a large general audience.

Also establish the language in which those customers research and enquire. A platform choice does not solve a mismatch between the audience's needs, your content and the person answering enquiries.

Instagram when the business needs to be seen

Instagram is worth shortlisting when appearance, demonstration or experience helps explain the purchase. Think of the difference between describing a furnished room and showing its layout, or listing a class timetable and showing what a session involves.

For a local business, make the content commercially useful. Show what is available, where it is offered and what someone should do next. A visually attractive account can still leave buyers unsure which branch serves them or whether the offer fits their needs.

Before adding more platforms, ask whether your existing Instagram content answers those basic questions. If it does not, spreading the same unclear material more widely will not resolve the problem.

LinkedIn when professional context matters

LinkedIn deserves serious consideration when the buyer's role, company or business problem is central to the sale. Its Company Pages support business information, posts, audience analytics and calls to action. LinkedIn's guide to Company Pages.

Use it to make expertise understandable. Explain how a service works, the decisions a buyer needs to make and what a successful engagement requires. Use examples you can support rather than filling the feed with claims about being a leading company.

For a Dubai B2B business, distinguish reaching people who work in the city from reaching the people who influence your specific sale. Relevant conversations matter more than collecting a broad professional following.

TikTok when you can sustain useful discovery content

TikTok is a candidate when you can turn your offer into short videos people would choose to watch: a demonstration, an explanation, a practical answer or a revealing detail about the work. TikTok describes its For You feed as personalised discovery based on viewers' interests and interactions. TikTok's explanation of For You.

You do not need to force every business into a dance or trend. You do need a reason for someone unfamiliar with the company to keep watching.

Keep the local buying context visible. If the service is available only at a Dubai location, make that clear in the content and profile. Broad attention is not the same as demand you can serve. Assess the relevance of enquiries alongside the response to the videos.

YouTube when customers need a fuller answer

Consider YouTube when buyers need more explanation than a short post can comfortably provide. Product walkthroughs, service demonstrations and answers to substantial customer questions can give the channel a clear purpose.

YouTube's own guidance describes discovery through search and recommendations, with search considering how well the content matches a query and how viewers engage with it. That makes specific, useful questions a better starting point than recording a long video merely to fill a channel. YouTube's search and discovery guidance.

For a Dubai business, a worthwhile topic might explain the practical steps involved in using your service locally. Only include details you can keep accurate. A video attracting the right enquiries can be more valuable than one reaching a much broader audience with little connection to the offer.

Give Facebook and Snapchat a specific role

Do not discard Facebook solely because you prefer another app. If existing customers interact with your business there, or a relevant community gives you a useful place to contribute, that is evidence worth considering. Respect community rules and avoid treating participation as permission to post unsolicited promotions.

Equally, do not add Snapchat simply because a guide associates it with a particular nationality or age group. Establish whether your intended customers use it and whether you can serve them with appropriate content. Snapchat's business Public Profiles support formats including Stories and Spotlight, giving a brand a place to publish and develop an audience. Snapchat's Public Profile guidance.

The same test applies to other platforms: a recognisable name is not enough. Give the channel a customer, a content purpose and someone responsible for using it well.

Treat WhatsApp as part of the next step

A platform plan also needs a workable route from interest to conversation. The WhatsApp Business app supports customer messaging and product presentation, so it can be part of that route. WhatsApp Business app.

If you invite enquiries through WhatsApp, decide who replies and what information they need to progress the conversation. For example, a local service might need the customer's area, the service requested and a suitable date.

This does not mean every business should send every viewer to WhatsApp. Some purchases need a booking page, a product page or a more detailed enquiry form. Choose the next step that fits the sale and your team's ability to handle it.

Put the shortlist through a practical test

Before committing production time to a platform, answer these four questions:

  1. Which customer are we trying to reach? Specify service area, buying need and relevant language, rather than just “Dubai”.
  2. What evidence puts that customer here? Use existing enquiries, customer conversations and your own audience information. Competitor activity can suggest a place to investigate, but does not prove sales.
  3. What can we publish repeatedly? Name actual topics, footage or expertise the business can supply. A platform plan that depends on unavailable material will stall.
  4. What should happen after the content? Set a relevant next action and decide who handles it.

Imagine a Dubai fitness studio choosing between Instagram and LinkedIn. If its immediate aim is local class bookings and it has useful footage of the sessions, Instagram is a sensible first candidate. If it is selling corporate wellness programmes to employers, LinkedIn may deserve greater attention. The business is the same; the buyer and offer change the decision.

Now consider a supplier with a complex product. LinkedIn could introduce the business to professional buyers, while a YouTube demonstration answers the technical questions they ask before enquiring. Each channel has a different job, so the combination has a reason to exist.

Turn the platform choice into a deliverable content plan

A channel shortlist is only useful if someone can turn it into content, publication and review. Lunasol can connect social content planning, editing and account management with planned Dubai filming where commissioned. That helps the platform decision shape the production brief from the start.

If you already have usable product or service footage, it can support an agreed management plan. When the chosen format needs a presenter, Lunasol's actor-led video production provides another way to supply the material. Match the channel plan to the production your business can sustain.

Discuss your audience and social media priorities with Lunasol. Tell us who you want to reach, what you sell and what material you can reliably provide. We can build the agreed content and management scope around a focused channel plan, with production connected to the work that follows.
