Summarize with AI

Five key points. Three practical next steps. Choose your assistant, then paste the copied article into your new chat.

You choose what to send. AI summaries can miss details; use the full article for context.

To be eligible as a supporting page in Google AI Overviews or AI Mode, your page must be indexed, eligible for a Search snippet and included through Google's Search generative AI control. Then focus on useful, original content and the SEO work that helps Google find and understand it. Eligibility does not guarantee that Google will select your page for an answer. Google's generative AI optimisation guide.

For a Dubai business, the practical starting point is to check the website's actual eligibility before buying more content. A good page excluded by a setting needs a different response from an indexed page that says little of value to its intended customers.

Understand which Google experience you are checking

AI Overviews are summaries that may appear within Search results. AI Mode supports more exploratory questions and follow-up comparisons. They can show different answers and supporting links, and an AI Overview does not appear for every query. Both can use related searches to help build a response. Google's explanation of its AI Search features.

Do not treat a result in one experience as proof of visibility in the other. The separate Gemini app is also not the same measurement surface as Google AI Mode.

When checking your business, record the experience used, the question, the language and the date. A Dubai-related query entered from another country is not automatically a test of what a customer in Dubai sees.

Check the current Search Console inclusion setting

In Search Console, open Settings → Search generative AI and inspect the effective choice for your property. Google offers inclusion, exclusion or inheritance from a parent property. Inclusion is the default for properties without a parent setting to inherit, so this is not a requirement to enrol every website manually.

An inherited exclusion can explain why a page appears in ordinary Search but is not eligible for these AI features. Google's control affects the specified generative Search experiences without acting as a ranking or inclusion signal for other parts of Search. It does not control AI training. Search generative AI control.

Confirm the business's intended publishing choice before changing it. If the site should participate, check the relevant parent and child properties rather than assuming the setting on one property describes every part of the website.

Google-Extended is a different control

Googlebot governs crawling for Search. Google-Extended concerns specified AI training and grounding uses; Google says it does not affect inclusion or ranking in Search. Do not use a Google-Extended change as a substitute for checking the Search Console inclusion setting. Google's crawler documentation.

Confirm the important page is actually indexed

Ask your SEO or website specialist to inspect the exact priority URL in Search Console. Read the indexed information and, where useful, run the live test. These answer different questions: the live test checks current accessibility and potential indexability, while the indexed report describes Google's recorded version.

Check the Google-selected canonical URL, too. If Google treats another URL as the canonical version, investigate that relationship before interpreting a report about the page you expected to appear. A successful live test is not proof of indexing or an AI placement. URL Inspection documentation.

If there is a verified access problem, resolve it at the relevant layer: page response, robots configuration, hosting or security rules. Google's basic technical requirements include an accessible Googlebot route, a successful page response and indexable content. They make indexing possible, not certain. Google Search technical requirements.

Review snippet restrictions deliberately

Google also provides page and passage controls such as nosnippet, max-snippet and data-nosnippet, while noindex prevents indexing. Restrictive settings can limit how content is used or presented. Have the specialist explain what each active control does before removing it: a deliberate publishing restriction is not automatically a mistake. Google must be able to access the relevant rule to process it. Google's preview and indexing controls.

Give the page a useful role in the customer's decision

Once the eligibility checks are clear, assess what a visitor gains from the page. Google's guidance emphasises distinctive, useful content and a good experience for readers. Google's content advice for AI Search.

Consider a hypothetical Dubai supplier selling office equipment with installation. A page comparing two products could help a buyer decide by explaining:

  • Which office sizes or operating requirements each product suits.
  • Which specifications are directly comparable and which are not.
  • Whether the displayed AED price includes installation or only the equipment.
  • Where installation is available and what site conditions must be checked.
  • Who provides the warranty and where the buyer finds its actual terms.

The comparison should make a real decision easier. Adding “best for Dubai” to a generic manufacturer description does not supply that information.

Use your own product knowledge, verified documentation and relevant original images where you have the rights. Keep stock, service coverage and language-specific offer information maintained. If an Arabic page describes a different package from the English page by accident, repair that discrepancy before expanding the content library.

Cover related questions where they naturally belong. One substantial product comparison may answer several of them; a separate installation guide may be justified when it serves a distinct need. Producing a near-identical page for every wording variation creates more maintenance work without giving the customer more useful evidence.

Avoid unnecessary “AI optimisation” purchases

Google does not require special AI schema, a particular answer length or an llms.txt file for Search visibility. Its guidance says Search ignores these special AI files. Appropriate structured data can still serve ordinary Search features, but it is not an admission ticket to AI Overviews or AI Mode. Google's AI optimisation guidance.

Ask a supplier to name the problem an extra deliverable solves. “We will fix an accidental exclusion on these pages” is testable. “We will install AI markup so Google must cite you” is not a credible promise.

Assign work according to the evidence

Use this short decision sequence before approving the next task:

  1. The site is excluded from Search generative AI. Have the property owner confirm the intended participation choice and review inherited settings. More articles will not override an exclusion.
  2. The page is not indexed or has an access problem. Give the website or SEO specialist the exact URL and diagnostic evidence. Confirm the correction on the published page.
  3. The page is eligible but unhelpful. Give the content owner the missing customer decision, facts and source material. Specify what the improved page must explain.
  4. The page is eligible and useful but is not selected. Treat the cause as unresolved. Compare the available results and strengthen genuine gaps without inventing a hidden ranking diagnosis.
  5. The page receives visibility but no useful enquiries. Examine the offer, landing-page experience and contact process separately. More exposure is not the same problem as more conversions.

This sequence prevents technical, editorial and commercial problems from being bundled into one vague request to “do more GEO”.

Measure visibility with the current Google report

As of September 2026, Search Console has a dedicated Generative AI performance report for Search, covering impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode. It includes page, country, device and date views. A report may be absent when there are insufficient impressions; that alone is not a diagnosis of a technical block. Generative AI performance report.

Use it alongside your records of changes. Impressions establish a visibility observation, not leads or proof that the latest edit caused the result. Keep enquiry quality and revenue in your business reporting rather than inventing those outcomes from a Search screenshot.

Lunasol's GEO work in Dubai can be briefed around the service pages and customer questions that matter to your business. Ask for the eligibility issue or content gap, the agreed implementation work and the evidence used to assess progress. Google AI visibility builds on SEO, so coordinate the work with your existing SEO plan instead of paying twice for the same correction.
